The Shimano “Cardiff” features 4 bearings plus a roller bearing, diecast aluminum frame and a variable brake system which allows the user access to the brake weights without having to remove the spool. The 400 and 401 models have a non-disengaging levelwind system allowing the levelwind to travel on the cast for smooth operation and a clicker alarm. These reels have 4+1 bearings. CDF400A has 22” of line per handle turn. (L stands for left hand model) 5.2 gear ratio, weight 11.9oz.
